Important Camp Infos
The Camp:
The DGB Jugend- und Freizeitpark Markelfingen is directly at Lake Constance
between Constance and Radolfzell, or, more exactly, between Allensbach
and Markelfingen. You should arrive on Thursday 12.05 between 4pm and
6pm (to be sure of catching dinner!), and you’ll be leaving again
on Monday 16.05 at around 1pm. If you’re coming with bus and/or
train: the camp is around 2.5km East of the Markelfingen train station.
You can get details on the train timetable at www.bahn.de.
We can pick you up from the train station!
By car: on the Stuttgart/Singen motorway (A81) take the exit for Constance
at the Hegau motorway junction, then take a right turn towards Markelfingen
at the end of the highway. Take the next available right turn onto an
asphalted country lane. Keep right, drive under the bridge (watch out:
cyclists have the right of way) and go straight on across the railroad
embankment. Take a left turn right along the embankment after the rail
crossing (where the “William” campsite is located). After
100m you’ll find the gate to the DGB camp on the right-hand side.
The Costs:
The entrance fee is 70 for students, apprentices, the unemployed, those performing their civilian service and trade union members, and 85 for everyone else. Its free for children under 6 years old, costs 30 for children between 6 and 11 years old and 50 for children between 11 and 14 years old. The entrance fee includes accommodation, food and all of the workshops. There will be food both for vegetarians and meat-eaters, but unfortunately not for vegans. Payment must be made before the start of the camp by bank transfer. Travel costs cannot be reimbursed. After the registration date has passed, all those who have registered will receive a confirmation with a further route description and a list of the daily events. It is not possible to register for individual days.
Other Infos:
The minimum age for participants is 16 years, in as far as they are not accompanied by a legal guardian.
You should bring your sleeping bag and a bed sheet with you accommodation is provided for in one of the many house-tents, each with space for 6 beds. You can also bring texts, audio quotes, CDs or MCs, books and blank tapes/CDs/MCs so you have something to prepare your pieces with. Otherwise, bring a notepad and pen, perhaps musical instruments and some games for your time off. Pets are not allowed. At all.
Bored after the workshops are finished? Never! There are loads of things to do at the camp in your time off: we have our own beach for bathing, a football field, volleyball court, table tennis tables and an evening itinerary which includes films, campfires and discos.
